It's in people's interests to do it if they are first asked. The assumption is not based on democracy so I can't support it and I'm pretty certain if it was put to the vote, the UK would say NO to...

Fair point. Not sure it should be available to everyone though. It would be very easy to lose the whole lot and therefore defeat the object of having super. A dangerous game.

Interesting article. I actually like super as it provides a great way of paying less tax. In addition if you pick a good low cost fund which iseasy to find, regular savings over the long term produce...

I know mine's a QROPS/Industry standard fund as Ive already transferred it. Looking at the funds you can't tell be the name whether they are industry standard or not. Even so there...

Some agencies do both. I've worked through agencies that supply both temporary and permanent staff. The OP suggests that the work was a "temporary job" so perhaps he/she was temping.

Not entirely true as they pay temporary staff and therefore need bank details and super info. However, correct for permanent staff.

The I am aware of:-

1. If you are going to transfer, they need to go into a QROPS super fund otherwise you pay vast quantities of tax

it will be fine. Be aware that the Aussie app store has different apps to the UK one. Keep your UK app id and create a new Aussie one that way you have access to both stores
