Just started to look at mortgages myself and it's a royal pain. Current bank not willing to touch us with a barge pole and all other banks I have spoken to are not really interested

The previous poster suggested that it would be better to use UAE credit cards. I tend to have a problem with my UAE cards in the UK.

When you bought your items did you use a UK debit/ credt card...

Morning people

Does anybody know if being a non UK resident I can reclaim VAT on items bought in the UK. Going on holiday there and will probably purchase a couple of high value items.

sorry my bad. They charge for using their jet skis.... But from what i have been told you have to get a licence and then you can use your own anywhere

The nearest place i found was in Sharjah at the Lou Lou'a Beach resort. They charge Dhs 100 for 20 minutes. Maybe Sharjah hasnt banned them.

I rang all the above hotels and they all said the same thing, which was that its not possible unless you own one.

Surely there must be a place where I can go and rent one :blink:

Went there last night, they only do blood and x-ray for visas. Went at 9pm in and out in 10 minutes. Nobody was there.
