You are right, it is a bit of both. I am very close to my family and living apart from them has always been hard. My OH who is also from UK (N.Ireland) is not as close to his, so has no problems...

Yes you have to keep the rabies shot up to date - every year or two depending on the type your vet gives. But you don't need to have the test done again as long as the rabies doesn't expire. Hope...
