I would also agree that its better to apply directly to hospitals via their websites - or use seek.com. I doubt many hospitals will be using agencies to recruit overseas...its too costly for them...

It would make it easier for employers if you had your visa arranged, or had at least started the process. Permanent residency is preferential if you are thinking you might stay - it's more costly...

Yes - ICU ratio is 1:1 for a ventilated patient. You may get 1:2 with extubated patients. ICU's are similar between UK and Oz.

I've also worked at Freo - but am now at Murdoch. I love it.
I've seen other people comment that the private sector does not salary package or pay the same as public - but this is not the case.
