Dont be paranoid, but it does cost each company between 40 and 100 each to come to your house and give you a free estimate. More usually, people will get 3 or 4.

you havent mentioned where you are moving to in oz, or how much goods, so it s hard to say. in oz the goods go through customs clearance, quarantine clearance, unloading the container, loading back...

By the way, I would check out the customs implications on goods sent in advance. Usually you should have flown in at the time of arrival of goods to qualify for duty exemption. Just send paperwork...

I suggest you write down a list of everything you want insured (you'll need it later anyway), then fax it to the various insurers. Buying insurance from a removals firm may not be the best idea. ...

it should be 3000-4000 maximum, but this depends on how much work the shipper is doing to pack everything up, what access you have for the truck, etc.

I know these policies exist, you just need to call some brokers and one was mentioned above - they are half the price!
