It surprises me that there's any snakes at all on the Gold Coast with all...

Re: Are Brisbane (SE QLD) Drivers Worse Than UK Drivers

I imagine that your attitude probably caused a great deal of the "road rage" which say you experienced in England. You perceived a car behind to be too close, so you slowed down on purpose, thereby...

Re: Beginning a New Beginning!!

There's nowhere in Australia that's "spider-free"! I doubt very much if there's anywhere in the UK that is either.

You won't see spiders crawling all over your living space, just as you...

Re: Killing insects in your home

I hope the cockroach thanked you for it.

And now for something completely different - I have heard that a cockroach can live through 4 or 5 minutes in a microwave at full blast. Haven't tried it...

Re: Are immigrants disliked in Australia??

It's not a matter of "disliking" immigrants - it's a common feature all over the world - an outsider is distrusted until he/she assimilates. Kiwis are targetted, so are Samoans, Indians, Japanese,...

Re: Killing insects in your home

In addition to the good advice already posted - don't panic!!

An invasion of the little bastards had got something to do with the weather - rain coming- ants go into "get out of the way"mode....

Re: accent

I was brought up in Leeds (rough end!) and left in 1967, when I was 21.
In 1985 I went back for a visit and stayed with family in Sheffield. I went to a clothing shop and I swear all I said to the...

Re: Stradbroke and Moreton Islands

South Straddie is mostly bush, with beaches on both sides. There are only two resorts I believe, and a few camping grounds, but there are no roads as such, just some tracks used by on-site tractors...
