Re: Husband Sponsorship=> Help Plzz

It looks like they are saying you failed to provide evidence showing that you would RETURN to Canada AFTER the sponsorship was approved. Because you're a Canadian citizen, you don't have to be in...

Re: Need Help! Spouse Sponsorship

I will agree most people recommend DIY. That said, they recommend it IF your situation is straightforward.

For example, if you met her online 4 weeks ago, got engaged 2 weeks ago and are...

Re: Sponsoring My Spouse Help with Form Filling

Look at the guide for filling out the application. It lists exactly what you need to include. I know when I did ours, while I didn't have to meet the minimum financial requirement, I did still have...

Re: Bridging gap from BUNAC to PR- HELP!!!

Move up the wedding date? You could always go to city hall, officially get married, and have the big celebration later. That way you can apply to sponsor him as your spouse. If you do it asap and...

Re: Something you should check as part of your decision to move

I'm not knocking the post...it's not inaccurate. However, I'm curious as to why a lot of it is a surprise? A quick search on here will show a lot of the same things said repeatedly. Job hunting in...

Re: Having baby in Canada - Passport

I don't THINK you can speed up the birth certificate process (I could be wrong though). However, I DO know that you can go in person to a passport office to apply for the passport and if you have...

Re: Spousal Sponsorship - advice

She can wait to change it and STILL go by Mrs. X socially. She'd just have to sign as her maiden name, but could be called Mrs. X. My understanding is that in Quebec that is your ONLY option. I...

Re: Spousal Sponsorship - advice

I just changed mine back to my maiden name (got divorced, dated my partner, he moved here, applied for his PR, got it, got engaged) solely because I didn't want to do it mid-spousal application. The...

Re: Common law partner

I think you're going to need to provide more information...are you Canadian? Do you meet the definition of common-law (living together for at least 365 days continuous in a marriage-like...

Re: Don't want to jump the gun

Hmmm. (evil thought ahead)...but as you were sponsored by your spouse, I'm pretty sure he's financially responsible for you for 3 years from the time of the visa being granted......

Afterall, he...

Re: BRITISH BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND PHOTOS

If your OH does not have children (ie, you're ONLY sponsoring him), there is no need for the birth certificate. You only need to include it if there are other family members being sponsored as well...

Re: Outland Common law application. Adresses/residency.

Commissioner of Oaths for what declaration? For an outland common-law sponsorship application, there is no declaration to sign. The "declaration of common-law union" (or whatever the official title...

Re: UK Accountant Qualifications Ontario

Unless things are DRASTICALLY different in Ontario (and I don't think so), a lot of your University Bachelor of Commerce accounting courses in fourth year are actually equivalents to the CGA required...

Re: Inland Spousal Sponsorship

If he's sponsoring his wife, just do it via the outland route. Assuming they're using the London office, people are reporting 2-4 mos lately for completion. Even if they're in Canada at the time...

Re: help! emigrating to canada

Ahh, in Nova Scotia, you do NOT hand in your UK license. If you present it, it allows you to bypass the "graduated licensing" system BUT you still have to do the written test and the driving test. ...

Re: help! emigrating to canada

The why is the easy part! :)

As we discovered 2 years ago, not all insurance companies in the UK will allow you to have a driver on your insurance UNLESS they have a UK license. In our...

Re: Where do I stand?

If you want to get things through as quick as possible, I'd order a new one. That way it won't potentially expire part way through the application process given it's already mid-August! Order it...

Re: possibly a stupid question...

I would, yes. Just to be on the safe side. Basically, leave no ambiguity! It might very well be fine not to in this case, but why take a chance?!

Re: Where do I stand?

You can apply via the outland route while in Canada. Nothing says you HAVE to use the inland route. Using the outland route, assuming it is a straightforward application and you have no "hiccups"...

Re: Where do I stand?

I'm going to have to agree with Aviator. It's fast and (relatively) easy. It also precludes the whole job issue thing! If you apply outland, assuming it's through the London office, people are...

Re: living in Canada on visit to get common law status...

The education for the child issue COULD be easily resolved if you were interested in Homeschooling him. Resolves the 'right to attend public school' problem.

Re: Outland Common law application. Adresses/residency.

We erred on the side of caution. For every time we were confused by something like that , we had a typed sheet titled "Additional Information for Form xxxxx". In the box in question we'd put "see...
