Thanks Daniel.....

I find it confusing. We are fully covered already here in Italy (tessera sanitaria - as has been proven over the last 10 yrs) so I'm not sure why on earth I need this S1....

We did not have our passports out of our cases when we re-entered at Rome. As mentioned it was a cursory glance at our CDSs.

It does raise a question in my mind,...

I agree, I would also suggest getting more than one view. One commercialista told me I must pay Italy taxes on my Local Government pension, another said, no I should not !!!
