Hi everyone, I've just joined, and am so in need of advice about medical insurance that meets visa application requirements. I know there are 3 types - International (AXA quoted me £26,000) - Local/Domestic. But this only covers Italy and so doesn't seem to me visa Schengen requirements - Travel, which can be 12 months, and up to the visa minimum of £30,000. But I'm not sure if this would be accepted. And its impossible to get through to the UK Italy consulate! I should have put my visa in by now, because I have a date to leave my UK home 30th April! So a tad panicy. Many thanks, Daniela

which visa are you applying for? Just you or dependents? If you are going to be living in Italy then get something that will satisfy the Italian authorities. I tend to advise Italian insurers who are familiar with the situation: Generali, Axa, Allianza, Unipol, etc Some have English websites.

Hi, thank you so much for replying. Very much appreciated.
As I understand it, I think that the only insurance that will satisfy my elected residency permit application is International / Global health care.
Because the visa information says it has to be Schengen compliant. Local/domestic health care doesn't seem to be visa compliant. AXA gave me the £36,000 quote just for my husband! Allianz is like getting blood out of a stone. And Cigna have a really poor reviews, Trustpiolet rating is 1. So from what I can see, it International health care insurance from AXA. Unless you or anyone else knows better! I do so value this site, and am grateful for your kindness in replying ðŸ™
