As a general observation you won't find Sydney any cheaper than the UK.
One thing will obviously appear cheaper but this is balanced by something being more expensive.

Fair enough! $400pw is relatively cheap for inner Sydney.

The problem being that "inspections" are basically 15min open viewings where a large number of viewers gather...

I've contacted 1cover and they do indeed cover 457 as long as you have a permanent australian address.
