We've done a similar thing with one of the card companies - we bought a $20 card (so about 9 quid) and its lasted around 6 months with atleast weekly calls to the UK lasting an hour or so at a time....

They used to be legal in SA too, and the truck drivers would use them up and down the east coast - they used to set up a radar detector...

Be really careful if you are going to use these in Australia - because they do have redar detector detectors (no, I'm not kidding)....
