Re: Queensland Ambulance Service

We weren't told our base station until the first day of our induction course. That was in September last year however so don't know if it is different now.

Re: Tailgating!!! What is the point?

My thoughts exactly. When the traffic grinds to a halt ahead, and there is a muppet who is 2 inches from your back bumper and only has forward vision as far as the end of his bonnet, it is always...

Tailgating!!! What is the point?

One of the first things I realised when I arrived in Australia was the horrendous amount of tailgating that goes on. Not just 'white van man' or 'sales rep' like in England, but people of any age or...

Re: Queensland Ambulance Service

I agree that it must depend on what area you work in. When I started in the Sunshine Coast, I didn't find out which was my base station until the first day of our induction. It has however been my...

Re: Queensland Ambulance Service

You can't transfer your NHS pension directly into the QAS superannuation as it is not on the list of recognised pension schemes that the NHS will allow you to transfer to. There are however some...

Which internet provider actually works as promised?

I have 9 days until my optus wireless internet service 30 day trial runs out. Having seemingly fixed the constant problem of it losing connection on a regular basis (fingers crossed), it is now so...

Re: Football - North Shore

I am in the same boat as you, desperate to get back playing again. Not sure where North Shore is but someone said it is up near Noosa. I am in Coolum but would drive anywhere to get a game. If you...

Re: OZ Bank account while still in UK

We opened our ANZ account while still in the UK. It is the same as the Westpac account where you can only deposit into it from the UK. You can only make withdrawls once you have actually arrived in...

Re: Anyone fancy a kickabout sunshine coast?

Thanks for the reply collybabe. It's not looking good so far judging by the response. I would have thought there would be loads of brits or even aussie's up for a game but maybe not. If I do manage...

Re: Queensland Ambulance Service

I was beginning to think I was the only one on that September course. Glad to know someone else will be there. Are you staying at the Bardon Centre or travelling from home?

Re: Transfers from Brisbane Airport
