We came over in 2009. We sold our house at the bottom of the market at the height of the GFC. We only spent about £7,000 to get here.
I had a job lined up with free accommodation and had my PR...

How tricky is it to renew a kids UK passport and use the new one? Our 175 is in his old one.

I have been offered a job as a mines Nurse/Medic. 6 days on 6 off.
+$110,000 per year. Easy...

I was in Townsville a few months ago for two weeks. People were either positive or negative about Magnetic Island. Some people could get quite charged up about it too.

Yes, prosperity is such that you cant find somewhere to live!!
Jobs...easy.
Place to stay is not impossible but you can live aboard at the marina in Mackay. Very nice too it is.

There are really no bad areas in Mackay...well there use to be a bad area but Franny Mac has moved to Perth now so its not a problem now!

I had similar circumstances when we first arrived. You will get about $400 per fortnight family assistance. I earned over £40k in the UK and we feel much better off here. We live in Mackay where...

We went to knucklereef just after christmas so that would be pre CYCLONE.
We camped at Big4 adventure whitsunday and booked our reef trip with them. They applied a discount to the camp costs (<$59)...
