I'm planning a trip up to Airlie Beach and Hamilton Island from Wednesday to Sunday. I was wondering if anyone knows what the conditions on the reef are like at the moment with the recent weather events. Also, does anyone have any tips on how to get the best prices on things like reefworld? I see they have a two for one offer on their website.

We went to knucklereef just after christmas so that would be pre CYCLONE.
We camped at Big4 adventure whitsunday and booked our reef trip with them. They applied a discount to the camp costs (<$59) and to the reef trip!
This discount is not unusual but you need to be big4 members to get it.
massive drops in back packer numbers means there are loads of deals on the go:- esp if you say your a local ( which we are, but they never check!).
I have not been to reef world. I know kbucklereef was great, really great . I here good things about reef world too.
Good luck!

Thanks, I wonder is Brisbane too far away to be classed as local. We might ask in our accommodation about discounts.
