Re: Granada - moving there

qwertyjjj - The two following sites might be worth having a look through.

http://www.granadainmo.com/buscador.asp?t=alquiler&p=1&pro=granada

Using the drop-down menu tabs at the top of the...

Re: Granada - moving there

Might be as well looking around the city itself. Renting around the city centre will be more expensive, so try looking around the outskirts - Armilla, Ogijares, La Zubia, Monachil.

All are a short...

Re: Spanish Electrician or English Confused

That's the "catch 22" situation many people find themselves in missile, if they don't get along so well with the language. It's also why they'll likely find themselves reliant on native English...

Re: Sinking Ship?

At this moment in time, I have more Spanish clients than British clients.

There's a mixture of reasons though.

In over five years I've lived here, I've become more integrated and much more...

Re: Spanish Electrician or English Confused

I'm a British tradesman who lives in Granada province. Interestingly, most of my clients in the last twelve months have been Spanish. Speaking the language is a great help with that of course. Word...

Re: WOODEN FRENCH DOORS MALAGA AREA

Look in your local Paginas Amarillas for any companies featuring "Maderas". Local newspapers will often have adverts for locally based companies also.

Alternatively, as jackytoo mentioned, try...

Re: Don´t buy property in Spain or you will lose a lot of money

Just thought I would throw my hat in the ring...

I live in Granada province and there still seems to be a steady flow of expats moving into this province and further inland to Jaen...

Re: Need help with Telefonica

My best advice to anyone at the moment is to shop around. We´re now connected with IBERBANDA, who offer telephony and ADSL internet and have excellent coverage throughout Spain. We´ve never had any...

Re: DO THE SPANISH REALY LIKE US

We moved to a small village in Granada province and are one of only two British families here out of a population of 200. We get on well with the locals and we're a permanent party of the "community"...

Re: Contact Between Tradesmen - Where Are You & What Do You Do?

That seems a fair price for a skip, though you do have to be careful what you put in them. Some skip companies I've used inland can suddenly bump up the price to 200 euros if you put timber, metal...

Re: Spain or France

No problem :)

People are easily put off by the negative publicity they see about Spain, especially at the moment.

I've seen a posting on one of the forums researching for Trevor McDonald's...

Re: Where can I buy perspex on Costa tropical?

Might be worth trying Solplast S.A. in Motril on 958 821 262. I don't know the full range of products they supply, but if they can't help directly, they may be able to point you in the right...

Re: Contact Between Tradesmen - Where Are You & What Do You Do?

I posted a reply to a similar question in response to a guy looking to move over here who was a carpenter/joiner.

In response to his question, I suggested that down on the coast, I know English...

Re: " Estate agents, campaign to make them work! "

My mum and dad are moving here permanently in a months time. Their estate agent in the UK and the one they used here have both been excellent. The drag in the UK has been the usual paperchase with...

If you're happy to integrate with the locals, then Inland is probably the way to go.

We live in a small village in Granada Province, which only has one other permenant British resident.

We've...

Re: Contact Between Tradesmen - Where Are You & What Do You Do?

Not untrue. Of the tradesmen I've worked with, I would say it's a 50/50 split of British and Spanish.

Pricing is a problem and some prices that I see people quote are unbelieveably high. Some...

It's fellow tradesmen in Granada Province, but also possibly Jaen and Cordoba I'm looking to get involved here.

Although the expat population is growing steadily...

Re: Contact Between Tradesmen - Where Are You & What Do You Do?

Totally understand your point there about the possibility of abuse. The aim here though is for tradesmen to get in contact with each other and share their knowledge, experiences and contacts.

I...

Re: for any brits buying or building

Just had to add to this comment...

The core of the problem of "Brits using locals" is more to do with the language barrier than the quality of the workmanship. I have actually had more problems...
