We emigrated in 2003 and moved back to UK in 2005, because I was really homesick and had been offered a really good job back in UK. I missed my family, financial security, beautiful...

Start over with a clean sheet. Although once you arrive watch the speed limits especially in rental cars. We have found they are much more likely to haul in rental cars for speeding than local plates.

Yes, although I still haven't learnt when Oliver was a baby we used to take loads of video and pisture, and now we never bother... but I love to see just the every day stuff from when he was little....

- We discovered after arriving we could have played all our UK DVD's and videos here but had boot sold them all at giveaway prices! Just nice to have a good collection of movies to watch, something...

Feeling for everyone with the current housing situation in UK at the moment. This thread has some great ideas about alternatives to selling.. that might be helpful....

With the benefit of hind sight, its easy to think of things I wish we had done before we arrived, that would have made life so much easier:
1. Got proof of no claims from car insurance companies....

I agree with the $40k estimate. We moved over in 2003 and it cost about that, moved back to UK in 2005, and back to Canada again in 2007 and it cost about half ($20k) the second time.

We have a Aiwa VCR that plays both PAL and NTSC videos, records in either and has AV input.

Unfortunately we aren't selling it, but if you can get one of those you could plug your Playstation 2...
