I live a few minutes walk from the University of Glasgow and, while we were just wandering around this weekend, I saw this memorial stone - I had no idea about the connection with McGill.

You're welcome to the potato farl... in Scotland, the equivalent is the tattie scone, which I am not a fan of. It's a very popular breakfast item here, but I just can't be doing with it.

On the flip side of FL's situation, I suspect I may be entitled to a modest CPP pension from my 7 years work in Canada... must look into that at some point.

Really sad to see the news about the wildfires around Jasper and the destruction of much of the town. It was one of my favourite places in Canada - used to love staying at the Patricia Lake cabins...
