We arrive 4th Nov in Sydney to see rellies then upto Gold Coast for new life a week later ... still trying to sort out accommodation etc....

My heart goes out to you - we never actually split but came close. I was made redundant, he lost his job a few months prior, eldest did not get into chosen school ...... but we soldiered on and used...

As teachers contractually we agree to only leave at end of terms - hence the Xmas date for me. Giving James time to get a job for start of Aus academic year in Jan. Appointments in Aus are usually...

Thanks loads. It is as I expected. Nov 23rd is going to be a very sad day as I doubt we will make it. With 2 kids it is too big a risk to leave secure jobs etc in the present climate.

We validated our visa april 2006 this is the end of our 5 years. As we are now both over 45 chances of re appying are nil!

Still in the UK!!! Ill parents, slow house sale, crap exchange rates..... Is it possible to get an extension for the final entry date? Ours is 23rd Nov this year. If so what factors apply.... anyone....

We did exactly that on our first reccy. We flew into Brisbane spent few days at Tangalooma on Moreton Island for the beach and dolphin experience then took 2 weeks to get to Melbourne via sydney....

My Husband has a conviction within last 10 years and it made no difference - we got our visas in 8mths!! Which was a hell of a shock as we are not ready to go yet.

Thanks for that - so basically we need to be migrate ideally by Nov this year at the latest next june. We got our residency visa in Nov 2005 so already we are pushing it time wise.

We've got the residency visa - too quickly. Done the initial entry in April 06 have got to be in Oz by Nov 2010 BUT how do we stand if we are not in until just before Nov 2010 regarding citizenship?...
