Re: Help!! Fear of dentists and need a filling!

Singapore isn't cheap either. Thailand seems to be a lot cheaper just by comparing prices alone.

Re: Help!! Fear of dentists and need a filling!

So true. Maybe that's why lots of peeps travel to countries such as Thailand for dental treatment. It's a lot cheaper there but dunno about the quality. Then again, I've been to expensive dentists...

Re: Help!! Fear of dentists and need a filling!

How much does your dental insurance cover? And how much does it cost? I've seen some policies cover dental crowns etc but does it cover the full cost?

Re: Are immigrants disliked in Australia??

If you're referring to the Bell Curve, whites don't actually have the highest IQ among the various races, assuming of course IQ is a measure of intelligence.

Re: NSW Motorbike license

What about states allowing people with a driver's license to operate a moppet? I suppose it's the tedium of too much regulation against safety.

Re: how old are u when u moving Australia, with/without jobs

Well done.

They must be quite desperate for geologists then :)

So did you go through a phone interview?

How did they first contact you to arrange the interview? Via e-mail?

Re: How hard is it to get a government job as a PR?

Interesting, my sister based in Perth tells me jobs are scarce in the rural areas compared with the city. Depends what you do I guess.

How hard is it to get a government job as a PR?

Has anyone tried applying to work in the Australian government?

Do they even respond to applications sent from overseas or do you need to have an Australian address to even hope for a response?

Re: How much on average to learn to drive in Canberra?

Hey Wendy,

But what would it cost in total? As I understand it, one has to have like 50 hours on the road to qualify for the test in NSW, so does that mean a minimum of 50 x $55 or $2750?

How much on average to learn to drive in Canberra?

Does anyone have an estimate as to how much it would cost to learn to drive in Canberra, assuming the learner already has had some experience driving but didn't yet get a license?

Re: Heading to Canberra?......

Thanks Casey for researching this. I got a reply from the ACT SMU and they said there is a fee of A$200 to renew the lease, but as you said it has no bearing on property prices whatsoever.
