It says on the website that as long as you are entering your country of citizenship, you can enter on an expired passport .... You obviously cant leave again, lol, but at least you can get it sorted...

Without seeming too negative, there are new graduates fighting for places on these courses and I really cant see a hospital needing to offer it as a sponsorship option. Certainly not a city hospital....

They often use it at the wound edges to cause vasoconstriction and stop bleeding. Lignocaine is also used xx

Hi Margaret

We do a combination of 8 and 12 hour shifts. You can choose which you prefer. I luv the 12's because it gives me more days off. I do 7am to 7.30pm or 7pm to 7.30am.
The 8 hour shifts...

Im in Ipswich, QLD .... 30 mins south of Brisbane CBD and 60 mins north of Gold Coast. I work at Ipswich hospital as a midwife and have been here for 3 years xx

Im probably not much help but here goes:
We definitely don't have Health Visitors in QLD but we do have Family and Child Health Nurses which is probably as close as you'll get. They work...

RSCN is definitely recognised in QLD and we have a brand new Childrens hospital in Brisbane. Health Visitors don't exist in the same form but we have Child Health nurses who work within community...

'The Park' - in Wacol, QLD. Half way between Ipswich and Brisbane. The Park is a mental health facility and caters for all care needs. Google it and have a look. Its a QLD health facility xx

$12,000 a year for nursing as an international student in QLD. $6,000 for a Commonwealth sponsored place but I think you have to have PR to be eligible for this. You definitely need PR to hex your...

Im a Midwife in Queensland and I reckon you should simply contact the hospitals directly. Bypass the agencies and contact the hospital directly. Agencies are handy but not essential...

Wacol is probably closer to Ipswich than Brisbane and Ipswich is way cheaper to live than Brisbane. It depends whether you want a City lifestyle I guess but there are some great suburbs in Ipswich...

I believe that all Midwifery courses are fee paying and Im not sure that you can get funded for the whole course ...... but there are definitely sponsored places that can be applied for. Not sure how...

I agree, the actual nursing qualification and subsequent registration is the important element. How you got there is irrelevant. Good luck with your studies, it'll be worth it !!

They accepted me and I Didn't even have a diploma - just a certificate in nursing.

I think that its the nursing qualification that is the important bit, regardless of what level...

Not sure about how to top up to a degree but I was hospital trained in the UK (Cert Level) and then did my Midwifery at Diploma level. I don't have a degree.

They have to keep a record of the training within the midwifery department...
