Re: did anyone go home after 6 mths and now regret it.

I almost went home after the first day in NZ and I would NOT have regretted it one iota. The only real good that came out staying was that it enabled us to make the move over to Oz a few years later....

Re: Money worries?

I don't see why they'd think that. An average professional couple both earning a good salary would easily have a combined income of at least that, probably more, it's not unusual in AKl.

Re: Money worries?

If you don't mind me asking.....why are you taking a huge salary cut and then saying you don't want to budget to any extent? Cost of living in NZ is as expensive as it is in the UK, and on the...

Re: Class wars.

Porsche? maybe, but it has to be...

Re: Money worries?

Our income was more than $140k. Depending on what your mortgage is like (the biggest drain on many peoples finances there) how much petrol you get through, where you live, how many kids you have and...

Re: Class wars.

Most migrants won't even get to a level within NZ society where'd they'd become aware of how strong the Old Boy Network is - how they all golf together, have their bachs in the same locations and go...

Re: Where would you live?

Our standard of living and quality of life is heaps better than it was in New Zealand. Migrants are better tolerated here: you'll be accepted more for your professional abilities and less...

Re: Starting to wobble

We had a brief wobble in Jan/Feb last year and came [this] close to pulling the plug on the move to Oz.

Hardly a day goes by when I don't think how wise we were to emigrate to the Gold Coast,...

Re: Repayments on a $250,000NZD Mortgage

I'm trying to think of the OP and prospective migrants here Genesis, I think it would help if you could show just how much it really takes to "get a lot of house for your money in NZ". Not just in...
