Re: The London Pound?

Its not so much asking for the symbol (as its not on our keyboards) - its more the "London Pound"!

Who knew London had its own currency!

The London Pound?

As you may or may not know I work in IT - I've just answered a support query from a colleague (who claims to have been to the UK) asking where they might find the "London Pound" symbol!

Re: Connecticut anyone?

A Friday vodka run - loving it!

Hubby and I always felt the Red Roof Inn sign had something 50's about it - we imagined that if you went there at cocktail hour there would be people having...

Re: Connecticut anyone?

I use the Red Roof Inn as a marker that I'm closer to home than to work! How funny!!

I'm not all that impressed by Metro North - the rolling stock is ancient - although they are air-conditioned...

Re: Do you subscribe to public radio?

Is PBS part of the same thing also? I only ask because I'm sat here watching old Eastenders on WLIW!

I got a cab in NY the other day and actually had a chatty driver! His son is a HUGE 'enders...

Re: Connecticut anyone?

We're almost neighbours - I'm off exit 24!

I drive up to New Haven many days for work - other days down to Greenwich, or on the good old Metro North to Grand Central!

Re: Do you subscribe to public radio?

I pledged during the last pledge drive - got a free "tote" bag!

I love public radio - it kind of reminds me of Radio 4. They have really great shows on Saturdays - we recently went to a...

Re: Is it just me?

I can't believe I've just got really into baseball as the season ends!

We went to Yankee Stadium for the last game of the regular season and it was fab (due in no small part to the time I spent...

Re: Road Courtesy

Its the worst driving I've ever seen - and I put it down to selfishness.

I've been beeped at for having the audacity to actually stop at a stop sign.
I've been beeped at for not pulling out into...

Question Is it just me?

We're watching the baseball (St Louis vs NY).

Am I the only one who giggles when they pronounce Pujols as "poo holes"?

It's probably just me (I've got issues)!

UK Commute: 45 mins door to door (when the Central Line worked) could take up to 2 hours when Central Line buggered.

US Commute: 40 mins door to door on the delightful I95 (away from NY...

Re: Bottle Redemption

We have the redemption places at all of our local supermarkets here in Fairfield (they smell terrible).

Re: Stop & Shop

My local S&S has an English section under the heading of "Irish Food" which is predominantly English with a few Irish items thrown in (Tatos Crisps - any good?).

The HUGE plus is that they sell...

Very best wishes to you - I got married 3 weeks before I moved over, and also brought my 3 cats with me!

Stressful - but worth it (second wedding anniversary on Sunday in fact)!

Yep - it does. Having consulted the bill more closely - there was a lot of stuff on there.

I don't feel so much like I was ripped off - but I still want a new dentist!!

Do you know if I am...
