No you dont need to be a resident for financing a car or getting credit cards either. Just a work permit and your works contract will do.

Is the driver of the other car ok, were they carrying any passengers? Must have been awful for them to be hit from the back with no warning.

Who Do You Bank With?

We used to bank with the Bank of New Zealand but have recently changed to Westpac. BNZ wouldnt give us a credit card as we didnt have PR but with Westpac it was no problem and we got one straightaway...
