The children do prefer school in the UK, they are studying more variety of subjects. I meant that NZ seems to have higher standards...

Thank You. We are going via LA and spending 9 days there. We live in Howick/Cockle Bay which is a lovely part of Auckland. It has a nice little village, with lots of good coffee shops, good schools...

Hi All,

We are leaving next week to go back to the UK. We shall be spending 9 days in LA (taking the children to Disney for Xmas) and then arrive back on the 30th of Dec.

Your observations are so accurate and true - it just makes you laugh.

The word "gourmet" is used too much in NZ. When they say it, I think they mean that it is basically any food that is edible....
