So would that mean he would get from now + 10yrs & 9 months? So the next one would expire around July 2023? His current one expires in October next year so we'd in effect 'lose' a few months wouldn't...

I remember filling...

Re: For all those who miss British sweeties

Also, another shop I'm liking is "Sugar Fix" - there's one underneath the Sydney City "Myer" (down in the food court) as well as one up at Warringah Mall. I think they have an online shop too.

Re: For all those who miss British sweeties

I'm a huge fan of the Sydney "Treats From Home" store... the lady who manages the shop is just fantastic and keeps me well stocked with Cadburys Dairy Milk! My hubby refers to her as my "dealer", in...

LOL they had them in my local Blockbuster the other day - threw me for a minute! Just wish they'd change their chocolate recipe here and make it as yummy as the UK one ;)

Re: blu rays uk/oz?

According to my hubby - UK blurays will play on an Australian machine and vice versa.

There are only 3 regions for blurays and the UK & Australia are in the same one.

Re: internet soooo bloody expensive

Don't forget you also need to factor in TV licence - isn't it about £12 per month now?

Our phone here in Australia costs $29.95 per month line rental plus call costs (rarely goes over $45-$50 per...

We haven't moved back to the UK (and not planning to) but we flew from the UK to LA to Sydney about a year ago and had about 7-8 days in Anaheim and had park tickets for 5 days, which worked really...

Re: ATM/EFTPOS in Aus

If you were using a UK-issued chip&pin card, then no, you wouldn't have been prompted to do chip&pin - from my experience, you have to sign if you're using a card from overseas (and when I was back...

Re: Child care costs

Not necessarily - it *does* depend on working/studying status & the type of care.

Re: Can I take a cab anywhere anytime by a call from my mobile phone? or not?

I've never heard of having to "notify" a cab firm of your intent to use them!

You may find, too, that there are cabs sitting outside the station anyway. Just hop in one of them and you're sorted.

Re: Child care costs

It depends, to be honest. Check out www.familyassist.gov.au . One thing it depends on is the working status of both parents. And also what type of child care you're using - whether it's "approved" or...
