Depends on the reasons you left for Australia in the first place. If you headed off because you were "escaping" from something in the UK, chances are it will return to haunt you when you come back....

I would just add that when I swapped mine over, with Australian motorcycling entitlement obtained in Perth, they put this on the licence too (with a little "70Aus" code next to it)

Make sure you tick the "Gibralter or other designated country" box at question 3. Australia is a designated country

I would just check that your husband's ESOL+Citizenship course still meets the standards now required. "Relevant progress" might be hard to establish, given he studied for a relatively short period...

I think it helps not to think of things in absolutes. Leaving Aus and coming back to the UK felt right when we did it and feels even better now we're here and settled. But who knows where we will be...

We still call B&Q "Bunnings" (and crisps "chips"). It's hard to shake off those kind of things.

btw, if you can't wait for a DIY store, I can only imagine how you'll feel at being able to go to...
