I agree with Priscilia - there is no more reason to mistrust the ability of your French Notaire than you would mistrust a British Solicitor...
(mind you I think most solicitors are pretty useless...

Certainly it is less expensive to live in rural (non Paris) France and the quality of life is much better as it the food, wine and laid back lifestyle. Certainly I could not achieve the same standard...

I simply do not recognise the France you seem to refer to.

I find the cost of living here is lower than the UK and far better. The social security system - the medical system are a class above...

I think you will always pay more if you buy via a British site -
the easy way is to select a town - area you like then put -immobilier (and the name of the town area) into google or whatever....
