Re: Recci to Perth in 3 weeks

There are plenty of free BBQs in the Western Power sponsored park within Kings Park. There are play areas for the kids, a restuarant (in case you burn the food!). Just have to watch the flies. When I...

Smile Re: Been let down with our accom in Perth

Don't feel bad about telling people and PIP. If they let you down, you did the right thing by posting that, as it could save other people from having the same happen to them. I'm sure that if they...

Re: Been let down with our accom in Perth

I used http://www.stayz.com.au/ & http://www.ozstays.com.au/ for my short term rentals. Worth taking a look I reckon and as they are more oriented for the Oz market, I found some good bargains there.

Re: Any April, May, June 2004 Skilled Independents out there?

Loidy, quite a place you've bought by the sound of it. Great news. I intended to buy somewhere with land, but once I saw the sun setting over the ocean (something you lot can't do over that side! ;)...

Re: Exchanging pounds stirling to $$$ a year after arrival.....

I'm pretty sure I read that any money that you transfer into AUD after 6 months of moving out to Oz is charged Capital gains tax. I can't confirm this, but that's what I read some time ago.

Re: Any April, May, June 2004 Skilled Independents out there?

Hi Lace,

Yeps. Got it while we were in EuroDisney. You were right about that place. It was a rubbish, but that was probably because we were comparing it to the USA. Total rip off in Paris. The...

Re: Any April, May, June 2004 Skilled Independents out there?

Did they not email that to you? Most of the COs send the letter as an attachment and you print that out and send it with your passports, or is it different with SIRs? Still. At least you know it's in...
