I've heard Mindarie car hire are pretty cheap. A taxi from the airport would cost about $80/90 to Currambine, more for a larger taxi. There's sometimes a queue but it moves pretty quick.

This is true, there are a lot of Brits in the area. Not sure if it would be 80% in Currambine, most of my neighbours are Australian/Greek/Italian. I personally don't have a problem living in a place...

Some thieving little b*****d stole my car from Currambine train station yesterday. My husband usually takes our other very very old car because it wouldn't matter too much if it was stolen, anyway...

I wouldn't be too quick to tell agents/landlords that you only want a short lease. They may want somebody in it for longer and if there's a lot of interest, they'll just pick somebody who wants it...
