From what I understand pt regs are draconian, if I have to conform to them I will not be bringing it here. The rya links are useful but I think you are right things are up in the air.

In reality I do not think that transiting through ireland would meet uk requirements for a no-test, as departure would be from pt. Moving here and covid are making me do so much research and finding...

seems all the direct flights to north uk are cancelled best I can see is to fly to dublin then manchester( from what I read no test for Pt -ireland and no test Ire. to uk.)

Ok I missed the end of year deadline. Just got our health numbers through so can now try to exchange the licence. Question now that uk has left eu will we be able to have both uk and pt licence?

I like that answer it sounds reasonable and sensible ,if correct I'm off the hook, no need to rush back. Should I still try to register my uk licence with pt imt online which could be done from the uk

I have a problem in that I have left my driving licence in the uk (idiot or is the correct term senior moment ) so I am going back to get it with the intention of getting back before new year to swap...
