Not as far as I am aware. We didn't even have the classical one until relatively recently. You have to be nearer to the bright lights of the coast to have that luxury.

In Al Ain, the Rotana, Interconti, Hilton and the Rugby Club all have various events on over Christmas. Cheaper than Dubai for the taxi back........

my take on this is that when you resign they may want to make sure you leave the country, and they will probably chase you...
