Yes, I am a citizen so I was living with her in the UK and sponsored her to Canada. We are have been living together mostly continuously aside from the 6 months I was in Canada and she was in the UK....

My wife did land and activate her PR in Canada in early 2018 but then she had to return to UK after only a two months. In late 2018 we had sold the house and were packing up and moving to Canada so...

Lot of people could say same about the UK really. Gather the son will remain to do Uni in Canada - them Uni fees for overseas students in the UK are very high.

You're settled here (Canada) and IMHO just consider Canada as your permanent home and don't think too much on the UK. Regular visits to the parents will be a good thing but moving back permanently...

Them Albertan's are never happy even when they are making money so just ignore 'em.

If this is as bad as it gets in Canada then Canada is in a good place.

UK students are the most tested kids in Europe and I personally believe it has a negative impact on kids. The system doesn't seem geared for kids that are late developers but just for clever kids....

I think everytime a company et al look at your credit rating and refuse you your rating goes down?

I'm in a similar boat - but I was in the UK for 15 years so closed everything but the RRSP down....

Can only advise to shop around in the UK. TransferWise will work but at that size the fee might be higher than other agents so I'd shop around.

OK, thanks for the exchange rate tip. been told that CRA is a waay fussier and does a lot more auditing than HMRC.

Accountant I spoke to wants me to become a Ltd. co but that's a bit OTT I think...
