DVD Players - Bring With?
Hi,
I know about the whole dvd ‘region’ thing but to save bringing my DVD players (back in the UK now having landed on flag pole trip with them detailed on goods to follow list) and messing around with power converters does anyone know any / have bought one in Canada which plays UK DVDs?
Thank you
Dave

Yes.
I bought two over the years in the UK and used published DVD player hacks to activate the dormant mulit region settings so I could play regions 1 and 2.
Now in Canada, I have done the same with a Canadian DVD player so I can also play region 2.
Find a DVD player you like, then before you buy, make sure there is a publushed hack for it.

Search Amazon. A new region-free DVD/Blu-ray player can be had for under 150 USD. Plays all DVDs and Blu-Rays.

If you watch DVDs on laptop, PC or smart tv just download the VLC media player (free download) it plays dvds from all regions and as a bonus it does not collect dust like regular CD/DVD players.

Don't bring your UK ones unless they have voltage switching capabilities.
Go into any store and note down the make and model of the current dvd and bluray player offerings then visit this site and see if there is a published way to render it region free. I have dvd and blu-ray players set to play UK discs this way.

Thanks for all of your suggestions on this. Sounds like there are a few ways to get around taking mine across!
