Re: receive your uk pension in ph

Checking my old notes, I see that about 5/ 6 years ago, when I was in the process of paying missed NIC Class 3 payments, I rang HMRC and they gave me an 18-figure reference number (not 16) that I was...

Re: Life Certificate/ Proof of Life re UK State Pension

Re: Life Certificate/ Proof of Life re UK State Pension

Received another Life Certificate today. If we go by the date on their letters, 14 August 22, 23 March 23 and 10 September 23, that’s three in the space of just over one year; is somebody...

Re: SRRV Deposit, TD's and Settlement Accounts ++

I’ve decided to go into more detail as this is under the SRRV section and it could help others going down the same route; especially as many may be unfamiliar with Time Deposits and Settlement...

Re: SRRV Retirement Visa

I’m not sure if you fully understood my post, or if I fully understood yours for that matter. Can I ask if you actually have an account with any bank in the Philippines or have you been relying on...

Re: SRRV Retirement Visa

Philosophical, I think PNB are being disingenuous here or ‘economical with the truth’ by insisting that you must have a US dollar savings account. For normal Time Deposits (TD’s), you don’t...

Life Certificate / Proof of Life re Armed Forces Pension Scheme - Vets UK

I was going to include this in a previous thread I started on ‘Life Certificate for the State Pension’ but as I can’t alter the main subject heading, Vets may bypass it if specifically looking...

Re: NT Tax Code

I’ve often wondered what sort of increase to their state pension these expats get if and when they decide to return to UK. Is their pension then brought in line with those that never left the UK?...

Re: Life Certificate/ Proof of Life re UK State Pension

Thanks for that. I’m the same and tend to call as close to 08:00 UK time as possible, hoping to get near the front of the queue. Today, my first call went in at 08:10 and after getting cut off, I...

Time Deposits (TD's)/ Savings Accounts in Ph

Nice to see some of the interest rate hikes being passed on to savers at last in the Ph. Whilst most of us try not to retain large amounts of funds here in the Ph, there are occasions when for...

Re: The Rise and Fall of GBP

Good news! The chancellor confirmed that next April the state pension will rise in line with September’s inflation rate of 10.1%. My advice would be to get those missing years paid up as soon as...

Re: Life Certificate/ Proof of Life re UK State Pension

To be precise, it’s 16 weeks and that’s from the date on the letter. So if it takes 10/ 11 weeks to get here as it did mine, you can cut that down to 5/ 6 weeks left to respond. Still plenty of...
