Louise -my Mum and my family are Irish. My Mum has never had any grief whilst in England for being Irish ,even at the height of the IRA bombings.
I on the other hand spent all my childhood holidays...

This is a good attitude to have.
it's taken me a while to realise that that's what family is about. I live 10 mins from family and we see each other sometimes once a week sometimes once a fortnight....

In your 2 years til you return you should try to live somewhere like Devon, Dorset etc. Much nicer parts of the U.K.
