Re: Medical Insurance US for UK visitors

We've used Avanti and World First for both me (pre-existing) and my wife's 90+ yo grandfather.

Didn't claim on any trip, so can't speak to that, but the questions asked on screening were...

Re: Travel Insurance for Visiting Elderly Parents

Honestly, I can't remember exactly as it was 2016 when he came over (he's still alive and just had 98th b'day). ISTR it was in the region of £2k for 2 weeks.

However, this was for a 92YO war...

Re: Travel Insurance for Visiting Elderly Parents

World First covers elderly and/or pre-existing conditions. Coverage appears comprehensive, but it is on the pricey side.

We got my wife's grandfather (90YO with multiple health issues) and used...

Re: Arizona or London

I'm in a similar position; wife's family is here, but our kids were born in the UK. Schooling is a little behind the UK (Kids are pre-K). There's some things I miss about the UK, but on balance I see...

Re: Electricals - to ship or not to ship

I brought 2x TVs, laptop, x6 lamps, TV sound bar and anything that is charged by a simple DC transformer.

Check your voltage and frequency on the back of your TVs. All recent LGs run dual voltage....

Re: health insurance for 70-year-old immigrating to USA?

I didn't claim, so can't vouch for that side of it. However, it's one of the few brokers who actually have a good questionnaire to work out the extent of pre-existing conditions.

And at this...

Re: health insurance for 70-year-old immigrating to USA?

They managed to get a suitable policy for a 94 YO with multiple pre-existing conditions (covered). We've used them multiple times across multiple years and been good.

Re: health insurance for 70-year-old immigrating to USA?

Yes. I also have a chronic condition which I used them for and it was also covered. Their questions on which they base the premium are pragmatic and insightful to the conditions declared.

Re: health insurance for 70-year-old immigrating to USA?

Re: Health Insurance Options for Relocation

When I moved I bought good travel insurance for 30 days and ensured this coincided with my return ticket date; as I'm sure you know, it is cheaper to buy a return and not use the 'return' flight....
