Re: Relocating to Hungary

I assume there would be a Hungarian Government website on this and should also be covered on the UK Embassy website. I think that the BalatonBrits website

Re: Moving from UK

Caravans are the same as trailers ie require registration, mot, insurance etc. Also remember a UK caravan will have the door on the wrong side. Now the UK is outside the EU there will probably be...

Re: Moving to Hungary

Cutting through all the chat on snow tyres etc bear in mind that there is a possibility of Britain coming out of the EU with no deal. Therefore all your rights you now enjoy could well be lost. One...

Re: Death Wish

Apparently it was a British RHD car and the people lived in the area for about 25 years. In their defence it was reported yesterday that the signage etc at the junction they entered on is being...

Re: Golden rod - nice to have or a liability?

Cannot remember the exact details but Golden Rod is considered invasive and the authorities are always trying to remove it from National Parks. There was a lot of articles on this about 4/5 years...

Re: TV & Internet

Forget tv via a dish unless you subscribe to Sky but you will still not get all BBC, ITV, Ch4 etc. as these are on a tight beam for UK only.

Best bet is Kodi via internet and use FilmOn.

Re: Same product, different food quality?

Feel the same about milk. I believe that baked beans for example actually have a shelf life of 7 years but are only marked up for about 2.

Interesting or not fact. In Lidl the small German...

Re: English TV in Hungary

Here we go again. You all want UK tv but are going to all sorts of silly lengths to avoid paying for it. Film On gives you what you want with no problems. If you have a Kodi box you can route it...

Re: Car insurance

Re: Using a U.K. Registered car in Hungary

Our German neighbour 2 weeks ago registered a 2002 1.8 petrol Zafira. No headlights etc were needed of course but the cost was just over 600 euros.

Re: Buying a used vehicle in Austria

I do not know the specifics of Austria. However over 90% of used cars come into Hungary from Germany. Basically you buy a used car there and (the dealer will do it) you get transit reg plates which...

Re: Car insurance

Under the EU Freedom of Movement Act your car insurance covers you completely in another EU country and you do not have to tell your insurance company.

HOWEVER this only relates to 3rd party and...

Re: What Are The Possible Outcomes For Ex-pats in Spain if UK leaves the EU

Since posting I see in the papers (assuming they can be believed) that 53% of French and an equal majority of Dutch and Belgians want out or a very serious renegotiation to take place. Unfortunately...

Re: What Are The Possible Outcomes For Ex-pats in Spain if UK leaves the EU

I would agree with you 100%. The pressure for reform of the EU by many of the other member states is a reality and only just waiting for the result of the referendum if we stay in. An example already...

Re: What Are The Possible Outcomes For Ex-pats in Spain if UK leaves the EU

You miss the main point. Turkey is a country of approx 80 million Muslims and under Erdogan is rapidly being changed from a secular state to a religous one. Also there are all the issues of...

I assume the P plate is for temporary use and cannot stay on a vehicle indefinitely. This seems to be a non starter. One other way is to buy a new lhd in the UK which we did. This gave us 3 years...

Re: What Are The Possible Outcomes For Ex-pats in Spain if UK leaves the EU

The main problem is that no one can say with any accuracy what will happen whichever way the vote goes.
I do however object when a person who one could reasonably assume knows his stuff makes a...

Re: Accessing UK and Sky TV in Spain
