Re: The British and their Dramas

Yeah, so all those people who died in BC last year because of the heat were just drama queens too🙄… it wasn’t just plus 30. It was 40 degrees in some parts, in a country that really isn’t...

Re: the flu is back

More like we found a way to control the flu, which is less transmissible than covid, but we’ve given up on
public health restrictions….

I have my first cold in two years this week (two...

Re: Final decision

See in Wales, the rugby was such a big event, we would either be at a game or out in the pub watching it with friends. When it was the Wales v England game (wife v husband) my parents would have the...

Re: Final decision

😆

You know looking back, I wonder if half the problem was that I never really tried to fit in culturally. We just streamed whatever we wanted from the UK, and left “Canadian tv and sports...

Re: Final decision

Thank you :)

What was it that you loved more this time? I’ve generally been in agreement with what Ford has done, but schools closing was just a bridge too far for me this time. For his...

Re: Final decision

*Update*

So a lot has happened and not much at the same time. I find that my friends in either country have biased opinions and it’s difficult to have a real conversation about it, so I guess...

Re: Coronavirus

Unless you’re moderately or severely immunocompromised then you or the general public are not being offered a booster.

For the immunocompromised, the fourth dose is actually the booster, three...

Re: Conflicted

You know what they say in Canada as well as the UK… there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing. Invest in a great raincoat; it’ll be a darn site cheaper than all the gear you’ll...

Re: Conflicted

You know if you move to Calgary, it would be the equivalent of moving to Texas? Alberta is red neck country and I think the government there is pretty conservative or right wing thinking- albeit I...

Re: Conflicted

I wouldn’t bank on it going down though; just back to a more steady increase. Calgary I believe is a different housing scenario. Subject to the demands of the oil industry in Alberta. It dropped...

Re: Conflicted

You need to move for more than weather, in my opinion anyway.

What seems ideal quickly comes with issues of it’s own; here in Muskoka, Ontario, lots of snow/outdoor activities but it’s...

Re: Canadian Schooling

Although the way the housing market is here, my kids will have to do very well at becoming a stock broker/venture capitalist to be able to afford to buy something here. In the last two years our...

Re: Moving back to UK from Australia to start A levels

My son is a late August baby so will be a year behind his UK peers, but in reality will be in the right age group, so starting his A-Levels from the beginning. He also wants to move home and is happy...

Re: Moving back to UK from Australia to start A levels

We’re 95% settled on a move back to the UK with our Grade 11 student (he’s 16) this summer. I’ve spoken to the local sixth form who will accept him to start A-levels in September. He will...

Re: Anyone flown to Canada with a proof of previous positive COVID-19 PCR test?

Re: Anyone flown to Canada with a proof of previous positive COVID-19 PCR test?

Nobody asked me where my PCR result was from. They only want to see the result, which is either negative or between 14-90(?) days if it’s positive. The only reason it has to be private is because...
