Re: WAPOL/SAPOL Recruitment?

The only other way in is if your partner/wife/husband has a career on the sponsored list and can get a visa based on that, on which you would also be able to come to Australia. Once here you can...

Re: WAPOL 2015 Waiting Room

Difficult to say Beth. The year I applied, it was 7 years, and then all of a sudden, the limit disappeared, meaning all lengths of service could apply. I think it depends on the level of interest...

Re: WAPOL

They've changed, apparently, from when I did them. Easier from what I've been told. Someone else who's done it recently will probably be able to tell you, but the ones I did in 2013 were not that...

Re: WAPOL 2014 Results

It doesn't sound any different from previous years Lobsta. I applied in March 2013 and even as an Australian citizen, I went through the process in the UK and didn't start until March 2014. It'll all...

Re: WAPOL 2014 Results

How's everyone going? This thread seemed to die a death in August with no updates as to how everyone got on.
Been in Aus for a year now and absolutely love it.

Re: WAPOL

Hi Hickster

Don't check in here often, but just seen your post. I came over in March 2014, having served 16 years in the UK and at 42 was the oldie of the bunch (there were a couple of us).

Re: Wapol pension

Arrived last March and within a month and a half had the process in motion to get mine across. I had 16 years service in the UK so had a sizeable pot to bring over, and was happy to pay for someone...

Re: WAPOL 2015 Waiting Room

It seems that from previous years, the response from WAPOL to enquiries was 'we currently have no plans..........' And within a few weeks/months, recruitment opened up again.
Keep checking the step...

Re: WAPol 2014 PPE physical preparation.

A WORD OF WARNING PEOPLE. In London they MAKE you keep your whole foot on the floor for the sit up. It may have been different in Aus testing Pincher, but feet have to stay flat on the floor and not...

Re: WAPol 2014 PEE preparation

Lobsta, type in bleep test/20m bleep test into the App Store search section and you'll get a number of results.
The other thing to practise is the agility test, especially the start. And get...

Re: WAPol 2014 PEE preparation

Don't know about a pass mark, I thought I'd flunked it on the maths but clearly not. I think they judge it on overall performance and take the top xxx through to the next stage.
Could be wrong...

Re: WAPOL 2014 Results

No double time here folks! We were in at the academy as just another day. They got rid of it a number of years ago in return for long annual leave.
However, there was no one from recruitment around...

Re: I emigrate tomorrow

Unfortunately, they did let HB into WAPol, and I have the misfortune of being in his class, and having to drink beer with him.
Like Harry says, work hard people, it's there for the taking. It is a...

Re: WAPol 2014 PEE preparation

I went through the whole process in London last year. Like Pincher, I won't give anything away, but would suggest you follow his advise regarding preparation for the PEE. With regard to dress, I...
