Ryan, you could always go with Emirates from Glasgow and go straight to Dubai with a forward dated transfer to Doha? Assuming you've thought about that already.....

Something else to keep in mind when thinking about bank accounts is, do you have a valid will in place? If you don't, and you were to die while resident in Qatar then Sharia Law comes into play, then...

My process has taken the best part of 4 weeks from start to finish, was only after speaking to the head boy at immigration that it got pushed through.
