I've completed all the forms etc.

I have now been on the phone to NZ IRD for the last 36 minutes and am now on the third 'advisor' and still haven't being able to resolve this.

Once you're a NZ resident your UK pension, both state and private, is taxable - even in the first 4 years. Or at least mine was. It's other investments that are untaxed for 4 years.
