International Driving Licence - do you get a year ?

Hi,

I know that a UK driving licence is only valid for 3 months in BC but I've just been told that if you have an International Driving Licence it's valid for one year, is this true ?

Will our UK white goods (Fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble drier) work in Canada ? Selling them second hand makes a fraction of what they're worth so I'd like to take them if possible.

ROLF & PRPF are the same thing. When we applied. September 2001, it was called ROLF so we still refer to it as that.

We did medicals in May and paid the ROLF in August and we've still heard nothing. Getting really fed up now, that's been 15 months now !!

We applied in September 2001, asked for medicals in May 2002 & paid ROLF in August 2002. Since then, nothing.

As for contacting London, forget it. They're like the bloody secret service !

We're in the same boat, medicals in May, ROLF paid in August. We've only ever lived in the UK so there shouldn't be any complications - they're just dead slow.

Wouldn't count on it being any quicker than that. We did our medicals in May and still haven't heard anything and we've only ever lived in the UK and have no criminal records.
