I normally pay about £25 for the plastic blue barrels which I purchase myself and slip them into the boot of my car (only one) from a shop approx 10 mins drive from me and the last time I shipped...

I do know that Ram Shipping have an office in the UK and in Barbados but have only used them to ship one way (UK to Bim) . Their number is 0207 476 0154. Good Luck.

I hear so many rumours about how expensive school uniform is that I was almost scared to ask for fear of what you would come back with but that's not as bad as I thought it would...

I used to live in Barbados in my early 20s and it took me a while to adopt to the people and the culture. One of the biggest things I missed about the UK was not having close friends...

Thanks No2son, it would have been nice to sell up here and be able to live mortgage free in Barbados but you can't have it all. It will slow me down but I think it makes sense to keep my options...

Thanks for the input. I intend to do just that - stay for 3-6 months with the intention of staying much longer - that way I will know if things really are too expensive for me to raise...

With regard to schools there is an application (or has been one) with the immigration office for the past 4/5yrs but after hearing nothing for years...
