Re: Immigration Lawyer? Or DIY

I wouldn't waste a penny in an immigration lawyer for a straightforward application like this. It's a non practising lawyer who's saying this.

I've seen people spending thousands of pounds in...

Re: LGBT Spain

What a load of rubbish in this post. Do you want to meet intolerant people? Then go to certain English cities after the Brexit vote. 30 years behind the UK? Well, I understand same sex marriages...

Re: Obtaining DNI for Children

When you apply for the first DNI for a child, you have to produce a "certificacion literal de nacimiento", which is more o less a long form birth certificate. This has nothing to do with their UK...

Re: Can I get Spanish health care?

He said he pays his taxes and NI in the UK. I do not believe someone who receive a state pension pays NI.

But anyway, I couldn't care less. If this is the usual response to someone who tried to...

Re: Can I get Spanish health care?

Fred, when I have mentioned taxes, I meant taxes from employment or self employment. The situation with pensions is understandable.

I tried to be helpful to the OP as he might be able to obtain free healthcare in 2012. I haven't...

Re: Can I get Spanish health care?

But double taxation agreements do not give you a choice of where to pay taxes. They just make sure you do not pay twice. I do not believe anyone who stays in Spain for more than 183 days can make a...

Re: Can I get Spanish health care?

So, what do you complain of? Are you ordinarily resident in the UK? Then you have the NHS and are only entitled to be covered in Spain with your EHIC during your holidays.

Are you ordinarily...

Re: Can I get Spanish health care?

You don't have to go to the INSS with the new statute. Rather go to your local consultorio. If they do not know the law just place a written complaint and someone will solve it. I did when my...

Re: Can I get Spanish health care?

So what? A Directive which is not transposed correctly or not transposed at all by the implementation date will give you rights anyway. In the case of defective implementation by Spain, it is to your...

Re: Can I get Spanish health care?

Fred, the bill is here: http://www.congreso.es/public_oficiales/L9/CONG/BOCG/A/A_115-01.PDF

To be honest I have not read it in full and, anyway, it will have some changes when published in the...

Re: Can I get Spanish health care?

Public health care in Spain has been traditionally linked to either being paying social security contributions or being a dependant of someone who pays them.

Unfortunately this has left many...

Re: Yoigo Sim expiry

Simyo will probably do for that, as they have good rates too. You must top up at least €5 every 6 months to keep it active, though.

Re: Yoigo Sim expiry

As long as you've got some balance in your account they will not cut off. However be aware of the 6 euro + VAT minimum monthly charge. You will pay this even if you don't use the SIM.

Re: ID for card purchases

The Spanish assport is now €20.20 and the ID card €10.10, but not long ago the passport was €12 and the ID card €6.80 so in time they will probably go up in price as the UK passport.

I wish ID...
