Hi, Q1. Uk & Class5 same.
He will also need to do a medical before the MELT, you use to have to do the computer test and air brake course and test but I assume that both will be included in MELT....

Just a minor point, the MELT requirements hours-wise are not the same in each Province and at the moment only 4 Provinces enforce the MELT programme with the price around $10K.

Are you a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada ?
If not you need a LMIA/TWP but you also need experience driving Class1 to get the TWP.
Someone will be along to explain this bit a lot...

Hi, is there still a limit of time that you can be employed on a TWP ?
Before IIRC, you could work for 4 yrs then had to go back for 4yrs before applying again.
This is for a TWP for Truck driving...
