Yes - at this current time, you need to complete 14 days in Abu Dhabi Emirate before leaving AD. That being said, it is expected to change quite soon.

I used World Nomads as a stop-gap. Holiday insurance but you can sign up for it when you are at your destination, unlike most.

I was a good bit cheaper than that for my 275/70R16s - though I drive a hard bargain! Very pleased with them on sand but will use my BFGs for rock crawling!

Road orientated? Mine are rarely on the road - usually on sand! Though if you are doing rocks they are not the best :unsure:

If you have cash to bring out with you for housing, schools, a second hand car, set up etc then it is doable. That being said, you won't save much.

What are your hobbies? Golf, gym, driving, cycling, kayaking, rugby, football, history, art, music, cinema, shopping are all catered for in the garden city.

Al ain is a lovely place to bring up a family. Good schools - your allowance wont cover all the cost - plenty of activities and friends for them

we lived there for 6 years from 2009 and my friends...

We are baulking at the air freight price of taking our two dogs back to Scotland; we have heard of people flying to Amsterdam, then taking a ferry to UK from there.
