Re: Things that would make Canada better for you ...

Seemed like a good idea at the time. Put the house up for sale and it sold in 2 days for 59K over asking so we booked some flights and we're off. Also the Stranglers are playing Leamington Spa on Dec...

Small world. We were in the Feathers earlier today. Nice pint of ESB. And yes, we did leave a tip.

Re: UK & Canadian electric plug query. Help ?

I have also witnessed sparks when plugging things in. Also noticed the lights dimming when turning on the vacuum cleaner or hair dryer. Agree entirely about dodgy foreign electrics. Those stupid wire...

Re: Sticking Point

Why can't you go back? I understand it may be a difficult decision but not an impossible one surely? And just because it didn't work for you doesn't mean it won't work for other people.

Re: Whey, hey - house sold & heading back

Funnily enough my job is the only thing I'll really miss. Mind you I work for the LCBO and being a bit of a piss head I'm in my element there. Seriously though it's not good. As a "Permanent...

Re: Why do you want to move to Canada

Not that simple. People don't vote for who they want in power, they vote against who they don't want in power. If one party was truly better than the rest then there wouldn't be any other parties. A...

Re: Are you going to get the H1N1 vaccination?

Not a chance. I'd rather die than take the risk.

Re: Canadian spelling....

There was a TV ad running not so long ago with a woman proclaiming that her family "likes to eat healthy". I looked everywhere but couldn't find any. Wonder what it tastes like.

Re: Canadian spelling....

Guilty M'lud. I don't even know why, but it irritates the crap out of me when I see the English language misused and abused. I hate it when people use "u" instead of writing "you". Maybe I'm just an...

Re: Canadian spelling....

The problem arises (so I'm told) from the fact that most books used in Canadian schools are printed in the US. When my son was in High School in Ontario either spelling was considered acceptable.

Re: What do you all think?

Your FAQ page needs some work. "How to bid" repeats Q&As from "How to sell"

Interesting name. I wonder if you'll get any objections from that other auction site.

Re: London (the proper one in England)

So what is your tale? I'm guessing in all that time you never encountered any crime. I think wherever you live the chances of being a victim of crime are pretty slim.

Re: London (the proper one in England)

Kent is definitely on our list and we quite like the look of Faversham (not just 'cause it's the home of one of my favorite breweries), which has the added bonus of being the home of one of my...

Re: London (the proper one in England)

Thanks for the info Folks. Will defiantly be researching Reading. In the meantime still plenty to do getting things sorted at this end. Be glad when it's all over. I hate moving.
