Re: Cultural Differences - Hunting

Yeah I've been wondering that myself all these years but didn't like to ask. I'd quite like to go hunting myself but have this nagging feeling that i'd just embarrass myself by bottling out of...

Re: How Many Civil War Battlefields have you visited

That's The General at Kennesaw/Big Shanty, GA. Down in my neck of the woods.
Been to quite a few of those sites. Love me some Civil War stuff.

Re: The summer weather thread..F...its Hot!!

Yeah I miss those long summer evenings too. I don't miss the short wet, cold winters so much though.
If I won the lottery I'd do Summer in England/Europe, Spring and Autumn in Georgia and travel...

Re: Off to Britain tomorrow....

Have a great time. The weather has been incredible for the last couple of months apparently. Hope it lasts another 3 weeks for when I get there. It's getting so close now I'm just aching to get...

Re: 70th Anniversary Of The Battle Of Britain

Magnificent stuff. The Spitfire has to be the most beautiful machine ever built. Something about it just stirs the soul.

Re: Burn's mini roadtrip!!

That reminds of the time I got told off by a scuba instructor for molesting a sea cucumber.

What is a possum by the way? It just makes me think of Dame Edna.

Re: Do they not have rain in Scotland?

I've been to Scotland twice for a total of 3 weeks. It rained about 95% of the time. When it stopped it was easily the most beautiful place on earth.

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2010

What's all this "Eurovision is a load of crap now" nonsense? It's always been a load of crap. That's the whole point of it. It's so bad it's good!

Re: Is Anyone Watching 'Celebrity Apprentice'?

Enjoyed watching this series. Glad Bret won. He was great fun.
The best part of the season for me was seeing how useless Rod Blagojevic was.

Re: well done Fox

Yeah that was nice bonus to have some decent commentary. Nice one UEFA too for moving it to Saturday so I could watch it live.
So ready for the World Cup now.

Re: Knife and fork usage

This is what gets me. People keep the blinds closed during the day to keep the heat out. But it's also popular over here to have extra windows in the house where there's not actually a room, they're...

Re: Things I don't get:

I think Eddie Murphy did it on one of his live videos.
I seem to remember finding it hilarious when i was a kid. But not as funny as the ice-cream man bit.

Re: Knife and fork usage

Now i'm totally confused. Isn't it completely normal to close the curtains at night and the lock the doors before going to bed?
That's not weird old habits is it? It's just the normal, sensible...

Re: Masculine women!

They're just walking coat hangers really aren't they? Clothes just hang better on a slim frame unfortunately (for me and most of the world).
The only fashion model I remember liking was Cindy...

Re: Knife and fork usage

The biggest thing regarding table manners that shocks me still over here is how people at the table start eating as soon as they are served, and I'm still waiting for my food!
My wife likes to cut...

I love stuff like that. My wife was pen pals with a kid in England when she was about 10. They then lost touch. So we now have a friend over here who's English and one day we were talking and...

Funny, I saw similar t-shirts in target yesterday. Just wrong. Although if you watch the 1966 world cup final footage all the England fans are waving Union Jacks.
I've got a little union jack on the...

Re: Gordon's Latest Gaffe
