Do they not have rain in Scotland?
Tonight’s 8:00pm Philadelphia Union vs Celtic FC match at PPL Park is currently under advisement due to weather conditions. The Union are consulting with city and stadium officials to determine the status of the match. An official announcement will be made no later than 4:00pm. As of now, the match is still scheduled to be played. :curse:

Tonight’s Philadelphia union vs Celtic FC match will played at the regular 8:00pm start time. After confirming with the City of Chester, safety officials and stadium officials, we’re confident in the safety and ability of fans to be able to get to the event. Up-to-the-minute weather forecasts for the event indicate that rain will be ending by kickoff. Additional parking has been opened on the stadium footprint to accommodate the weather conditions.
Looking forward to this one and next week we will manage to give Man Utd the good thrashing they deserve

Do they not have rain in Scotand? It's not an unknown meteorological event by any stretch of the imagination, and if you like lots of the wet stuff coming down in bucketloads at a rate of about fifty per second then you can pitch your tent in places such a Fort William or anywhere in the Western Highlands, or even in places on the bonnie banks of the Clyde such as Helensburgh.
If you prefer to be in somewhere less soggy then you will find that Edinburgh has about half the annual rainfall of New York City, USA, and about a third of the rainfall of some cities in the American South. Just to the east of Edinburgh, on the North Sea coast at Dunbar, in South East Scotland, a whole year's rainfall can amount to less than that which falls on San Francisco over the same period of time.
Actually many parts of Scotland which are normally the wettest in statistical terms - those in the mountainous west and north west of this country - had received less than 50% of their normal rainfall in the first half of this year but over the past week or so the deficit is being much reduced by "normal weather conditions" for the area - RAIN. And now, following the very hot, sunny weather over the last few days, rain is also affecting those areas of East and South East England which have received very little rain since the start of 2010, and last Saturday aerial shots of Hyde Park in London showed it to be completely brownish yellow in colour with no greenery to be seen at all.

The biggest difference between CA weather and UK weather is not the totals, but the way it comes down. In CA, you get some healthy downpours, and then it's done ... . In UK, it will be drizzling non-stop to give you that total rainfall. Even in December/January, in SF, you'll have several clear, sunny days.

I've been to Scotland twice for a total of 3 weeks. It rained about 95% of the time. When it stopped it was easily the most beautiful place on earth.

And Yes, as stated previously, when it rained the one time, it just never stopped.

I agree it is an amazingly beautiful place. It's just a shame that all the heroin, rape and obesity makes it such a dump to go to.

Well....

"Scotland is the drugs capital of Europe, according to a United Nations report..."
I particularly like this from the Scotsman that refers to Scotland as -:
"the murder capital of Europe"
"the AIDS capital of Europe"
"The knife crime capital of Europe"
"the teen pregnancy capital of Europe"
and now - "the cannabis garden of Europe"

Lovely place.
