Thanks Sparkles, I never saw this reply but I rang yesterday and couldn't believe how helpful the guy was, as you have said, I can apply 4 years from date of first entry provided all other criteria...

I don't think A/C really helps in the long term, 1st year used it a hand full of times, 2nd year a few more as we weren't trying to brave it, if we had it in the bedrooms we'd of had it on (the A/C)....

NZ looks like a viable option, make the most of it and transfer any licences asap under mutual recognition. I've been through the "process" and negotiated the "system" in a way that was possible...

Indeed, I'm currently working as a electrical mechanic in qld using my sa and nsw licences gained off of the back of a electrical fitters artc, all perfectly ok under the mutual recognition...

Depends pretty much on where you want to live, for SA NSW or Qld just go to PEER and transfer your SA licence to NSW, or alternatively use it to work freely in Qld...

We get around $5k pm which includes the centrelink for the kids. The wife and I take $50 pw spend we save 1k pm have a reasonable suburbanexistence and there tends to be a few $ left at the end of...

Hehe, no we pay 350 a 3 bed town house thats bigger than our old 3 bed eot. Just seem to spend much less here. Eating better hhere imo on $200 pw for four of us. Its not impossible...

I earned £70k in england I earn $70k here and I honestly don't feel significantly worse off, would I go back to UK now for a £100k? no chance. Enjoyinglife amd trying to make the most of it....
